Imbued with a rich sense of history, each ceramic iteration by Canoa Lab is built by hand at a private workshop in Valencia, Spain. Local materials are honed in harmony with ancient techniques to lend each made-to-order piece a modern translation that channels the colors, textures, and forms of the old world.
Born slowly, out of relentless attention to detail, designs extend a daily invitation into the rituals of the Iberian, Roman, and Greek societies of the Mediterranean. Stoneware is handmade using a press mold and lost wax, with grog from Manises, and brushings of experimental glaze.
The Stamnos Antracita Vase is edited and restained with a grounded, robust noir silhouette.
Dimensions: Ø 16cm, height 16cm
Technique: Press mould.
Uses and cleaning: Not watertight.
Clean with a damp cloth or small brush.

Canoa Lab
Canoa Lab is an experimental ceramic design studio in Valencia, Spain founded by Pedro and Raquel. Their interest in ancestral production techniques led them to design vessels and objects rooted in ancient forms. Produced with as few tools as possible, their primitive designs pay homage to Iberian, Roman, and Greek designs, which are an intrinsic part of their Mediterranean culture.
